Club Trip: Autumn Training Weekend

Updated: Nov 16, 2018

Last weekend some of our members enjoyed a weekend away in the Peak District with our friends at UoN Tri. Heres a bit about what they got up to.

Day 1

After enjoying carb loading with lots of pasta the night before it was time to hit the hills. Todays routes took us out near Sheffield over lots of "little lumps and bumps". We enjoyed cafe stops and instagram stops to take in the beautiful autumn views in the beautiful weather. When we got back some of us joined the triathlalopes for a little trail run in the dark before another dinner carb loading. The jersey presentations included one of our own, Tomas, being awarded the bonk of the day jersey, after struggling towards the end of the fast groups epic ride. We then enjoyed a games night before another good nights sleep.

Day 2

Some of us got up early for a "sunrise" trail run, unfortunately due to lots of fog there was still no sunrise to be seen. We then set off on our rides. Today's took in the famous Winnats Pass and the beautiful alpine-pass-like Snakes Pass. Laura was pleased as she made it up Winnats for the first time without stopping. The pub lunch at the end was definitely a highlight.

All in all a great weekend and would definitely recommend to anyone.

" It was a well organised, scenic and thoroughly enjoyable weekend, had space and time to push myself as well as relax and take in the hard earned views" - Tomas

Keep a lookout for more trips later in the year!
